Biography

Vincent Lenders is a research program manager at armasuisse. There, he is responsible for the Cyberspace and Information research program where he is leading the research activities in cyber defense, information management, information fusion, and information retrieval. Besides research, he has been responsible for the development of cyber security and privacy concepts for the operational command and control (C2), radar and drone systems at the Swiss Air Force for which he co-received the Swiss department of defense's Security Award in 2011. Since 2012, Vincent Lenders serves as the industrial director of the Zurich Information Security and Privacy Center (ZISC) at ETH Zürich, Switzerland. He is further the co-founder and in the board of the OpenSky Network and Electrosense associations.

Vincent Lenders was a postdoctoral research fellow at Princeton University, New Jersey (2007). He earned his Ph.D degree (2006) and M.sc (2001) in electrical engineering both at ETH Zürich, Switzerland. Vincent Lenders has made various research contributions in mobile computing, wireless communication and IT security. He is the author of more than 70 publications that appeared at refereed international conferences and journals and is the inventor of two patents. He has received best paper awards at the IEEE WONS 2012, DFRWS EU 2015, ACM CPSS 2015, and DASC 2015 research conferences. He is a member of IEEE and ACM, and holds various security professional certifications including CISA, CISM, CRISC (ISACA) and CISSP (ISC2).
